Project Description

W. is a luxembourgish webseries about a hypermnesic amnesiac helping the police to resolve crimes by Frédéric Zeimet. I was asked to do a visual effect for the third episode of the webseries, in which the main actress leaves her own body and is duplicated in the same shot.

VISUAL EFFECTS

In this project my mission was to duplicate the actress and make her leave her body, whilst keeping both of her versions in the shot. It was necessary to rotoscope the actress out before superposing her. To create a more natural and seamless transition when she is duplicating, it was necessary to create a mask that expands from the center of her body, that reveals the duplicated version progressively.

This VFX shot was around 300 frames to rotoscope.
I used After Effects and Mocha to rotoscope and composite the footage.
